1. Agreement to Terms

By joining the StackSherpa waitlist ("Waitlist"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not submit your email address.

What you're agreeing to:

• Receive notifications about StackSherpa's launch
• Allow us to process your email address and name
• Comply with our acceptable use policies

2. Service Description

2.1 What the Waitlist Is

The StackSherpa Waitlist is a pre-launch notification system that allows you to:

• Reserve your spot: Be among the first to access StackSherpa
• Founder pricing: Lock in £19/month forever (first 100 customers only)
• Early access: Get beta testing opportunities before public launch
• Updates: Receive product news and educational content

2.2 What the Waitlist Is NOT

• ❌ Not a purchase: No payment required, no credit card, no obligation
• ❌ Not a guarantee: Waitlist position does not guarantee founder pricing (first-come, first-served upon launch)
• ❌ Not a subscription: You are not subscribing to StackSherpa yet (that happens after launch)

3. Eligibility

3.1 Age Requirement

You must be at least 16 years old to join the Waitlist. By submitting your email, you confirm you meet this requirement.

3.2 Accurate Information

You agree to provide:

• ✅ A valid email address you can access
• ✅ Your real name (or business name)
• ✅ Accurate company information (if provided)

Providing false information may result in removal from the Waitlist.

4. Waitlist Registration

4.1 What We Collect

Required:

• Name
• Email address

Optional:

• Company name
• Team size

4.2 How We Use Your Email

Your email will be used to:

1. Launch notification: One-time email when StackSherpa is available (January 2026)
2. Founder pricing reminder: If you're in the first 100, we'll remind you before spots run out
3. Product updates: Occasional emails about features, case studies, tips (max 1/week)
4. Beta invitations: Early access opportunities (if you opt in)

4.3 Frequency

• Before launch: Maximum 1 email per week
• At launch: 1-2 emails with installation instructions
• After launch: Only if you don't sign up (we'll delete your data after 12 months)

You can unsubscribe at any time.

5. Waitlist Position & Founder Pricing

5.1 Position Not Guaranteed

Your position on the Waitlist does not guarantee:

• ❌ Founder pricing (limited to first 100 customers who actually sign up)
• ❌ Early access (beta spots are limited)
• ❌ Any specific launch date
• ❌ Acceptance if we determine your use case is not suitable

5.2 Founder Pricing (First 100 Only)

What it is:

• £19/month forever (regular price: £29/month)
• Locks in when you install the GitHub app and upgrade to paid, not when you join Waitlist
• Limited to first 100 paying customers

Expiration:

• Founder pricing ends when we reach 100 paying customers OR March 1st, 2026 (whichever comes first)
• Being on the Waitlist does NOT reserve founder pricing - you must sign up after launch

5.3 No Transferability

Waitlist position and founder pricing eligibility cannot be transferred, sold, or shared.

6. Communications & Opt-Out

6.1 Email Communications

By joining the Waitlist, you consent to receive:

Transactional emails (cannot opt out):

• Launch notification
• Account-related messages (if you sign up later)

Marketing emails (can opt out):

• Product updates and features
• Educational content (dbt tips, case studies)
• Beta invitations

6.2 Unsubscribe

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time:

• Click "Unsubscribe" at the bottom of any email
• Email us: support@stacksherpa.ai with "Unsubscribe" in subject

Note: You'll still receive critical transactional emails (e.g., launch notification)

6.3 Removing from Waitlist

To completely remove yourself from the Waitlist:

1. Email support@stacksherpa.ai with "Remove from Waitlist"
2. We will delete your data within 7 days
3. You will not receive any further emails

7. Acceptable Use

7.1 Prohibited Activities

You agree NOT to:

• ❌ Use fake or temporary email addresses
• ❌ Register multiple times to "game" the Waitlist
• ❌ Use bots or scripts to submit bulk registrations
• ❌ Impersonate others or provide false information
• ❌ Harass or spam our support team
• ❌ Attempt to hack, reverse-engineer, or abuse our systems

7.2 Consequences

Violation of these terms may result in:

• Removal from the Waitlist (without notice)
• Ineligibility for founder pricing
• Permanent ban from using StackSherpa

8. Privacy & Data Protection

8.1 Privacy Policy

Your use of the Waitlist is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

Key points:

• We do NOT sell your email
• We comply with GDPR, CCPA, and UK data protection laws
• You can request data deletion at any time

8.2 Data Retention

• Active Waitlist: We store your email until launch + 12 months
• After you sign up: Data transfers to your customer account
• If you don't sign up: We delete your data 12 months after launch
• Early deletion: Email privacy@stacksherpa.ai anytime to request deletion

9. No Guarantees or Warranties

9.1 "AS IS" Service

The Waitlist is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind, including but not limited to:

• ❌ We don't guarantee StackSherpa will launch on a specific date
• ❌ We don't guarantee you'll get founder pricing
• ❌ We don't guarantee the product will work as described (it's pre-launch)
• ❌ We don't guarantee uptime or availability of the Waitlist page

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, StackSherpa's total liability for any claims related to the Waitlist is £0 (because the service is free).

We are NOT liable for:

• Lost profits, data, or opportunities
• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Damages arising from your inability to access the Waitlist

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting.

How we'll notify you:

• Update the "Last Updated" date at the top
• For material changes, we'll email you (if you're still on the Waitlist)

Continued Use = Acceptance: By remaining on the Waitlist after changes, you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom.

Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.

Informal Resolution First: Before filing a lawsuit, you agree to contact us at legal@stacksherpa.ai to attempt informal resolution. We'll try to resolve disputes within 30 days.
